Access keys
About access keys
Our site features access keys. These are key combinations which let you move quickly to certain parts of a website, and are very useful if you don't use a mouse as your primary form of navigation or if you prefer to use keyboard shortcuts.
Key combinations
The key combination you need to use will depend on your web browsing software, as well as your computer's operating system. We have included a list of the most common key combinations below. If your web browsing software or operating system are not listed, you should refer to your documentation for help with this functionality.
Microsoft Windows software
- Internet Explorer (v5+)
- Hold down the ALT key, press the access key, release both keys then press ENTER
- Firefox, Netscape (v7+), Mozilla, JAWS
- Hold down the ALT key and press the access key
- Opera (v7+)
- Hold down the SHIFT key and press ESCAPE, release both keys, then press the access key
Apple software
- Safari, Firefox, Mozilla, Internet Explorer (v5+), Netscape (v7+), Camino
- Hold down the CTRL key and press the access key
- Opera (v7+)
- Hold down the SHIFT key and press ESCAPE, release both keys, then press the access key

Tab key
Most browsers, screen readers, or other user agents let you use the TAB key on your keyboard to move between links on a page. A single press of TAB moves to the next link, and a single press of SHIFT + TAB moves to the previous link.
Text size
All text on this site is fully scalable, so you can set the font size in your browser to whatever size you are comfortable with. We have also avoided the use of images where styled text will suffice.
Screen readers
If you have difficulty in reading websites on a screen, you might find screen reader software more convenient. Screen readers are pieces of software designed to read the content of a site to you, which can be helpful if you suffer from any form of visual impairment.
